Spotlight: The Legacy of Seán Nichol

The Hallows Gallery was founded in 2016 by Dylan and Meabh Banks with a very specific mission: to celebrate and showcase the work of Meabh’s great uncle, the renowned artist Seán Nichol (1920–2005).

Seán Nichol was a masterful painter whose work captured the essence of Ulster. From bustling market days to quiet moments by the river, his paintings are infused with warmth, character, and a deep appreciation for the Irish landscape and its people.

Today, we are proud to continue his legacy. While our gallery has grown to represent a diverse array of established and emerging local artists, Seán Nichol's work remains at the heart of what we do.
